Cheap(er) Parts

Just found this out this weekend:

If you are going to Kragen Checkers, schucks (or whatever else they call themselves) to buy your parts, YOU CAN GET UP 50% off their in store prices if you go to the Parts America website http://www.partsamerica.com, add everything to your shopping cart so you have the part numbers and prices of everything you need, print it and bring it to the store to order, and they price match it and you don't have to pay any shipping. If they have it in stock, you get it right away, otherwise it takes like 2 days to get most stuff.

This saved me over 150 bucks replacing my brakes this last weekend. Everything is almost twice as expensive if you just go straight to the parts counter to order.

i supose it depends on what you buy, but on that website a new hub for my cj7 is 125 bucks, autozone wanted 90 or something, and i got it form qtec for 44.
a brake rotor from there is 44, qtec is 35 or something, and autozone was 24.

from my experience lately, autozone has the best deals, followed closely by NAPA.

but thanks for the advice, ill definately check it out next time i break something

I thought this thread was about the low quality parts they sell.

Yeah, some of their stuff is crap, and sometimes quadratec has better prices on better parts, but I guess th point was that its always better to bring printouts to the store, than to just show up and buy something...

Most of em will honor the online price, which is almost always alot cheaper.

I got my drums for 22 bucks, wheel cylinders for 8 and reman master cylinder with lifetime warranty for 19. All Raybestos PG+, which seems like pretty decent quality so far....

I've personally found THE worst parts known to man at Autozone. YMMV.

I'm lucky enough to not have Autozone as a choice for parts . I tend to use NAPA exclusively for my own stuff and it's between carquest, autopart international, and Napa for my customers.
