Cheap 48" Jacks $39 New

found them in the jc whitney catalog for 35.99 on the 4th page of the cj yj tj book. i searched there website and only found them for $60+ so i called them at like 1:00 a.m. gave the girl the part # she says its $56.99 for the jack. I finally explained to her, and she then looked at the catalog herself and realized it was a misprint and had to honor it, i bought 3 of them. got free s/h and they added $2.99 s/h for each jack for irregular size all in all $39 for each jack to my door!

Hope everyone enjoys!

This is my first post, i just joined, but i will have my pics and mods up soon! I wish i could have shared this with the entire forum, but i didn't know where to post it. so i went with the cj forum, only because i have a cj! if the moderators want to post this somewhere better, please do. this is a great deal for all.

Can you scan that page and the cover of that print version of JC Whitney?

Or, if not, can you give all the identifying information of that particular print version so we can use it on the phone as well?

I assume this is the item to which you are referring: link
48"H Jack with 4.5" to 37.24" Lift Range Part #: ZX071847W Each $69.99

I bought mine at Cummins Industrial Tools (we have a couple stores locally) for $29.99:
http://www.cumminstools.com/browse.cfm/4,944.htm

Mine came a grey/burgundy color that I didn't care for, so I just rattle canned it black.

Harbor Freight has the same one as JC Whitney for $39.99, too:

have you used the "cheaper" lifts for recovery?

Jeep owners...please wave back even though I drive a Grand Caravan now!

I have and they seem to work well. I would opt for a wider base plate for some of the terrain I have here, but otherwise it acts like a jack.

85' CJ7 Laredo, 383 GM, Turbo 350, NP 203. SOA, 2" frame lift, 34" TSL swampers, Dana 30 open, AMC 20 w/ detroit locker, 4:10's, 1 Piece Mosers, 35" boggers to abuse when needed.

Never had to use it on the trail (knock on wood), but used it at home for test purposes. It's a jack. It serves it's purpose. Doesn't have to be pretty or come in a fancy box. Bolt it to the Jeep without a major concern for it rusting or getting stolen.
