Center Console/Subwoofer/amp
I have a 79CJ7 that is in desperate need of a sound system upgrade. My wife got me a Sony, detachable face unit (IPOD ready!) for Christmas, and I'm now looking for speaker/amp options.
I saw this intrapod thing. I currently do not have a center console, and I was thinking of getting one, but in my opinion this looks a little strange (and sort of pricey). Besides the looks, does anyone have any experience with this? Does it sound decent? http://www.allthingsjeep.com/21576s.html Any other suggestions are welcome!!

I don't have any experience with this but I have been toying with the idea of trying to mount a sub inside a tuffy 10" stereo console. My idea was to get my local machine shop cut a grill into the back for the sub and then I would be able to store the head unit/ amp in the console as well. That way everything would compacted together and would secure. just an idea I had. Good luck

check out this thread- http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f8/cant-find-radio-495330/
what you do will come down to cost and what you need for where you live- i just got the smittybilt locking center stereo console for xmas. i'm fairly new to CJ's (I had a TJ), but i wouldn't put a radio with any value in the dash. it will get stolen eventually, if it doesen't fry from water leaks first. as for the speakers that come with any enclosure, i doubt they would have that good quality. That center pod thing looks like a good idea, but where the heck is the bass going to go? have someone custom build you a secured trunk, and put a sub and amp in there. |
