Its a regular ignition set up...cap n rotor.

When its idling its a normal smooth idle, correct?

And warmed up if your quick punch the throttle does it stall, go to a low idle then raise to a normal idle rpm, go to a happy idle, or idle high then drop down to a normal idle?

Also a failing ignition coil will act like fuel delivery problems. Especially when your working the engine hard.

Could be a number of things, but look at curb idle adjustment, vacuum leaks or, those idle pickup tubes may have already picked up trash again. How does it idle when parked? Does it only die when at normal operating temp?

It idles good. When I punch the throttle it revs fine. Revs up then will come down fine when I release the throttle. Driving from 1st to 3rd seems smooth but at the higher speed say, 40 to 50, when you take your foot of the gas quick to shift that is when it dies. Not a sputter and death but just stalls out. Ignition coil is fairly new also. Vacuum is good. SOOOO....Idle pick up tubes and curb idle adjustment will get checked.

Do the emulsion tube cleaning and adjust your fuel mixture screws for lean best idle.
