Carb Set-up For Nevada

We will be moving to Nevada (60 Miles Northeast of Reno) in January and was wondering if I need to carry my timing light and or need to adjust the carb once I get near there or out there. We just returned from a week out there but flew and the air is quite different. 9*-18@ night and 18*-25 during the day.

What say ye?

Well the temps will not likely be a problem. The difference will be the elevation-thinner air. You may have to downsize the jets. If you are no more than 5000-6000 feet, the timing may not need adjusted. In my experience, the factory settings usually work just fine at that elevation.

60 miles NE of Reno......Gerlach? Lovelock?

Average AMSL for Reno is 4500'. Adjust your jetting accordingly.

Are there any Jeep clubs in or around Fallon, Nevada. Did a google search but L-Vegas was about the closest one unless I didn't see correctly.

Thanks,
Jim

You may have to hook up the altitude jumper on the 7. There is a club in Tahoe,Lake Tahoe Hi Lo's Lake Tahoe Hi Lo's and Nevada Nomads, nevadanomads.org, Larry 775-246-2804. Not sure where they are but contact them they may be able to tell you of any in your area.

Lake Tahoe HiLo's put on a great poker run in August below Tahoe on the Deer Valley trail. Their a great bunch. I see that M170 in your pictures, some of the HiLo guys are in the MVCC also.

I think they have a little bit of everything. Jay has a CJ8, most of the ones
that come to the Cal 4 Wheel event Hi Desert Roundup every memorial day have 5's or a flatty.
