carb problems?

Hello I'm new to the forum well kinda i was on here years ago.
anyways I have a 75 cj5 304 v8 pretty much stock except headers. so it starts right up and runs great but sometimes I get to a point where i have no power. step on the gas and its like there is nothing there. not sure how to describe there than its like a vapor lock or something. seems like I can get out of the jeep and hit the throttle by hand and it seems fine. has done it to me overtime I get it out now. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated just lost my job and need to get it going to get me back and forth to new job when I find it

things I have done

New fuel pump (manual not electric)
new fuel filter
new accelerator pump diaphragm only

thanks
Johnsskull

Next time it happens, crack open the gas cap to see if it fixes it. A plugged up vent on the tank can cause issues like that.

yes i have tried that one would assume you would hear a realise of pressure but I did not and it did not help.

DOES ANYONE THINK REBUILDING OR REPLACING THE CARB WILL FIX IT?

If you hear a "whoosh" when you take the fuel cap off, your tank isn't venting properly. Yours sounds like its fine.

Certainly rebuilding the carb is worth a try. It's cheap, and probably needs to be done anyway.
