Carb basics!?!

I dont know why but Im having difficulties finding this basic info on the net,

What does 32/36, 38/38, DGEV, DFEV means? What are the differences?

Why would one chose one over another?

Look in on this thread.

The only one you've asked about that isn't described in there is the DFEV.
It is a scaled down (less CFM) and mirror build of the DGEV.
The 'F' is said to represent "Ford", a left hand primary.
I have this carb very well matched to a 2.5L engine, a bit too small for an engine any larger.
