LOL, nope I'm 5'8" on a good day (getting shorter after 4 knee surgeries.) I have a 30" inseam and I can reach the pedals just fine. Before modifying the frame, I had one of them plastic molded seats in there. It was tilted back so far my legs hung off the front edge.
The pivot is basically a big rivet. Grind the head off one side with a grinder and it will knock out with a hammer. The ideal bolt to use as a pivot would be a Shoulder bolt. Any hardware store will have them.
Beat it to fit, paint it to match!
Anyone found a vehicle that has some weatherproof seats? I went to the pull yard yesterday and went through a horde of small Chevy cars and mainly found cloth seats. I just don't know how good leather and cloth are going to be exposed to the elements.
I'm running '97 Cavalier seats in mine, just threw some cheap covers on them to preserve the cloth surface, they have been holding up pretty decent for 3-4 years now. I had to make a plate to bolt to the back of my seat bracket, the front to back spacing in the cavalier seat is longer than the CJ bracket. I've got pictures somewhere, but not on this computer
they sell cans of that new water proof spray at HD and Lowes.. you can spray your jeans and they will hold water like a plastic bag.. why not spray your nice seats so they are water proof? says it works on "everything"..
I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers in his JEEP!...
