Can the clutch from a 258-T18 combo be used on a 258-T5? -

Can the clutch from a 258-T18 combo be used on a 258-T5?

I just bought a new 258 with a new center force clutch on it. It was mated to a T18 tranny. Will it work on mt T5?

I believe the T-4 (T-5 is the same ) has a 1.125" input shaft diameter. The Jeep T-18 has a 1.0625 input shaft, both are 10 splines
The Ford T-18 has a 10 splines and 1.125" input shaft. So it depends if its the Ford or Jeep transmission.
The pressure plate is the same, only the pilot and friction disc might have to be changed, IIRC.
Input shaft length needs to be checked also.

I'm not certain with the pilot bearing.
Call Advance Adapters or Novak-adapt, to be sure.

Some right info there, some wrong.

Ford inputs are 1-1/16" (1.0625), not 1-1/8".

Only the '76-79 CJ T18's have the 1-1/16" input. All others, including 72-75 CJ and all FSJ T18's, are 1-1/8", same as the T4.
