california propane retro fit???

i have heard something through the wood work that propane converted cars,truck are exempt from smog checks in ca. has anyone else heard of this? now i figured it still would have to be inspected by a referee but, iv been looking online and the truth is still vary unclear to me. lets hear back from some of yall that has already done it, or knows a little something about it.

What I know from Colorado, which seems to be following Cali pretty closely, is that with propane you'd need all of your original smog equipment (unlike with a TBI, where you can ditch the air injection system). As far as I know you still have to be tested, but since it's propane it's almost guaranteed to pass unless it doesn't pass the visual.

I'd strongly consider it if I didn't have to source an OEM air injection system and connect that.
