bulltear alt. bracket help

so i ordered a bulltear alt bracket as the one i have is flimsy and was a temp hold till this came in. its a 360 out of a waggy with a stock manifold on it. i tried installing the top bracket that bolts to the manifold but on mine it has a square piece that comes up by the side edge of the intake preventing it to be installed, any ideas? ill try to get some pics up later.

as you can see the C on the bracket thats on the manifold, how its supposed to hug the manifold. well on mine theirs a big square chunk coming off the manifold holding the back of the C up

i tried calling bulltear but its past their hours and their site has no info other than this is supposed to work on all amc v8's. BTW it came with no instructions

I am using the OEM alternator brackets on my '79 304 V8 with an
Edelbrock Performer Intake. The intake doesn't really matter with
my setup.

The 1st photo is an OEM non-AC setup.

In the 2nd and 3rd photo of the alternator in my 7 you'll notice I used
washers as spacers. I found the correct spacers but have not installed them
yet. On the second photo just inside of the alternator belt you can see part
of the lower bracket.

Also the type of water pump you are using sometimes will make a difference
on the thickness of the spacers.

Hope this helps. Good luck with it!

Edit: Please no comments about the wiring - I am working on it. Thanks.

i bet your wiring is better than mine! and i really want to make this bulltear setup work as it raises the alt up a lot and i dont want to have to go through the hassle to return it. i have an offenhouser intake to go on it that i got for free but need a diff carb as from what im reading the stock 2 barrel mc2100 wont work with the offy manifold without an adapter and i dont want to spend money on the carb setup as i plan on going to a diff carb, just need the funds for the carb lol. ill just deal with the flimsy setup ive got now till i can afford a carb, thanks!

Yes - I realized after I posted you were placing the alternator
in a higher position than stock. Those BullTear brackets sure
are nice. From the photo I think the alternator is mounted
pretty solid. Good luck with it!
