Big time score! Wish I was so lucky to even find the contour fan! U going to use the AC and brackets or alternator's bracket?

The A/C compressor and brackets I will need for a future On Board Air project. I traded the set I had earlier in the build to get the exhaust manifolds. Glad I was able to get some back. The Alternator and P/S brackets will most likely get sold along with the set of 3 groove pulleys to offset the purchase. I already have my Alternator mounted and a nice set of painted P/S brackets waiting to be installed.

Damn what a week, so damn busy at work that I only got 6 hours of sleep from monday - friday. Time to recover and relax.

I tested the Contour fan today and it works. The harness is trashed but the connectors are good. I made a little set of jumper wires to go in my JY tool bag so I can test stuff before I buy it next time.

I disassembled the rest of the stuff I picked up and pulled the pulley off the PS pump. I blasted all of the brackets and pulleys, they cleaned up nicely.

Cjjon7, I'll keep you in mind for the Alt brackets but I am going to hold onto them until I get this engine running and confirm that my homemade setup works.

Thanks!

I put a coat of paint on all of the new brackets and pulleys today. I used the rustoleum hammered dark bronze. They came out a lot nicer than the hammered black. I may switch them all out, we'll see.

I swapped all of the brackets and pulleys today. I like the new color better than the black. I started refurbishing the power steering pump too while I was at it.

LargeAl, I got your pm and that will definitely help ship it in a smaller box. I'll repackage tonight so my wife can ship it while I'm out of town.

I gotta admit the dark bronze does look better than the black. Will have to pick some up and add it to my collection.

Rustoleum years ago had a pretty bad rep but now put out what I think is a quality product. If prepped correctly it looks great and holds up very well.

Can I ask why you didnt grab the 44s? Would that completely throw off your suspension/lift on a cj since its from a completely different model? Just asking because I found some similar ones in my area but I dont know how that would change the dynamics on a cj. Thanks

The front axle from the Wagoneer has the differential on the driver's side. Not sure what other mods I would need to do to the rear to make it work seeing as they are already SOA. 44's would be nice though, however axle upgrades are going to be a ways down the road. Long after I get this thing up and running or when the dana 30 explodes.

Power steering pump and pulley are installed. I have several alternators on my shelf and was wondering if anyone knows which would have the higher output or knows of a way to figure it out.
#1- is a stock alt from an 80' cj7 with a 6cyl

#2- is a stock alt from a 79' cj7 with a 304 (i have two of these)

#3- is a stock alt from an 89' Grand Wagoneer with a 360 (this one looks larger externally than the other two)

I'd like to have more than 65amps from my alternator so if there a swap or rebuild kit out there let me know.

The amperage rating is stamped into the case on one of the flat ears.

Great info! Thanks!

I cleaned off the cases and found #1 is 61amps, #2 is 63amps and #3 is 78 amps. I'll use #3.
