Brakes?????

Anyone have any idea why when i brake too hard the car dies??

Or more importantly why i see sparks when i brake??

1981 CJ7 - In lots of pieces... in process of build up

4.5" Rubicon Express LIft kit (still on frame)
35x12.5x15 BFG Mud Terrain tires on 15x10 rockcrawlers (still on stock axles waiting for Dana 44's to be rebuilt)
Chevy 305 - Lunati RV cam, stock heads w/slightly cut valve springs
SM465 tranny and NP205 t-case awaiting rebuild
flattie fenders cut front bumper

for the first one, it's likely a carb issue, a hard stop will slosh the fuel, and if you are clutching, the Carter carb is famous for the ability to stall due to a likely clog in the idle tubes. Do a search here or on google, and you can make your Carter run good.

Edit: also check for vacuum leaks

As for number two, I'll just assume you are kidding.

hate to tell you but deffinately not kidding. i never saw it but my friends did as i drove away and above my feet when i braked

Well it may have nothing to do with braking, but maybe those sparks are eminating from your starter. My buddy's CJ tossed a bunch of sparks when he would turn the car over. We swapped the starter out...

The stalling is definitely the carb.

i don't think so my uncle just replaced the brakes
the sparks were comin from above my feet my friend said(above the petals)
