brake lights help 1963 cj5

I need help I cannot get the brake lights or signals to work. There is a brown on each side that appears to gobtobthe brake switch on the peddle but then im lost there is a single brown wire that I wire hot?

There is usually one hot wire for both and it uses the fixture bolts for the ground path. So the fixtures and the tub both have to be good grounds.

Thanks! Any idea how the flasher hooks up it has a rd white and black

The Haynes CJ manual is a good book to have. It has decent wiring schematics. If I can find mine, I can help more. Don't know your setup off hand, sorry.

Tempted to say red to fuse, white to signal arm and black to ground. Just a guess.
