brake help

i am now the owner of a 75 cj5 and it is awesome. it has stock 30 and 44 axles with 4.27 gears and a detroit and lockrite. my help is in regards to brakes. can these axles be converted to disk? what is the best way to do this?

I'm in the process right now... got a dana 30 out of a '77 CJ7, and the plan is to swap the knuckles... I am just waiting to get time--will end up taking the knuckles in to get new ball joints put in. Fairly simple, straight forward. You have to work the front port of the MC to work with the discs, but it is straight forward as well... I think there was a write up on it in JP Mag, I will look around to see if I can find a link for you.

Converted my '75 Dana 30 to discs using '77 rotors with Chevy calipers and caliper mounting stands.

Would have been easier to swap in later model Dana 30 outers.

Important: It's the back port of the master cylinder that is for the front brakes. The residual pressure valve is removed.
