thats exactly my thought..like i said I am looking for no show rig, but if this has 50 xxx miles on it, the wear and tear is significantly lower, ill check the frame, firewall, etc and see how it looks, as a matter of fact im going to take pictures and ill host em up on here..then well see what you cj guys think

I have an 81 cj7...make sure the carb is good.....they arehorrible for having a junk carb. and make sure you check the body mounts and firewall area especially for rot,.

how would i know about the carb? the throttle response would tell me the carb is bad? or what exactly can i look for to tell if the carb is junk

check for smoke and a rich fuel smell, also check your carb adjusments for the idle. The ones on mine do not like to work properly

threads like this always make me chuckle... I don't think it really matters what the Jeep is, or what they are asking, someone is going to tell you to offer less, without even knowing what the Jeep is, has, or it's condition or regional value...
I made the same switch (of sorts) a year ago when I sold my TJ and got (another) CJ-definetely different, but all Jeep!
any chance of getting a few pic's, to help us help you?

lol thats the full doors sitting in the rear..
from what i know the paint is new, but not brand new. apparently it sat for a very long time, then the guy just decided to have body work/paint. It's sure no rust bucket, the frame is solid, the body mounts look good, things are a little wet underneath the oil pan looks a little moist indicating a possible leak, etc.

Ask him what his bottom line number is and buy it. Any price at or below $3K would be fair.

I see that PO plugged all the emissions lines, even the pcv valve. And there's some wiring that probably needs attention (like every jeep!) as long as you have patience it can make a fun project. Good luck!

what does it mean if he plugged the emissions lines.. bad good? whats the fix?
