No pics at the moment, but it should instal on the driver side fender above your charcoal canister. I believe it mounts via 3 holes and shares one with the washer fluid bottle (if you have one).

After looking at Keith's I'm thinking mine aint factory.
Nope, can't say that it is.
The one I showed is from the factory equipped CJ's with heavy duty cooling that have the radiator cap more towards the drivers side. CJ's equipped with the standard 2 core radiator and a fixed cooling fan, like mine, did not have a coolant overflow tank. Just a hose coming off the center mounted radiator cap and draining to the ground on the passenger side.
There are several different arrangements according to year and engine and whatever was added to your CJ by the PO. "Coolant recovery" was only fitted with the Heavy Duty and factory air conditioning packages and you would have had an extra 2.8litres of coolant.
It should be affixed to the fender near the radiator on the driver's side facing across the engine bay. It has two lugs (maybe at the top) which are bolted through the fender. (I hope this makes sense).
I attach several cuts from the FSM and the parts manual. They all show completely different tanks, so take your pick. However they indicate the same general mounting position.
Mine have relatively small condenser tanks which are mounted next to the radiator. There is a bracket and the tank slides over the bracket on a 1984 258ci and 1981 258ci, both were HD cooling from the assembly plant in Jakarta but who knows what they were thinking when they assembled them from kits. It doesn't really matter where you put it as the radiator will suck it back up the hose and you would need a difference in height of about 25 feet to prevent it.
