Nice find on the Renegade! You should have no trouble selling the extra parts as good as it looks.

Boom......You're just a glutton for punishment!! Great find on the Renegade. I don't even want to think about the hours you must have into your project.
Keep up the good work and post some more pics when you get a chance.

Boom, gret find! I think you're right on the money with the Renegade- keep all the good stuff from your red one, which is all bolted to the frame, anyway, and put a healthy tub on it. Sometimes you have to know when to cut your losses on a rotten tub.

Thanks, guys! If I can build what I have pictured in my head, this should turn out nice. Hardest part for me is finding the right place to take the tub and front clip for proper painting.
My Jeep runs pretty good and is just about locked in mechanically. Although, it would be nice to do the frame off restore, I need to draw a line somewhere.
I ordered a dash from Daniel at Double D fab and I will soon order bumpers from Eddie (BESRK).

Honestly I would really consider flipping that Renegade.. a Jeep like that around here would bring around 5-7k vs the run of the mill salt belt jeep which would get you 1500-3500.
Depending on how bad of a time crunch you are in you might want to put your red/black one on hold, reassemble the renegade and sell for a profit. My $0.02

I will part out what I don't need. I just want to finish my original project. At this point, making a profit on this project is not the goal. Yes, I would love to recoup some of the 'investment' I have into this project by selling off some parts I will not use. I bought each of the 3 'parts' Jeeps at decent price points to allow me to make some profit.
However, in the end it is all about the journey and destination of having an older CJ-7 Jeep setup just the way I always wanted. To be sure, it won't be as original as the restore some guys are doing, but I am OK with that. I want it durable enough to jump in every so often and drive it on road and off. I want it clean and straight with as few rattles/squeaks as possible. I mostly want to use the Jeep build some cool memories with my family.

Getting ready to take to painter
Things are moving along. I think/hope I have found a good restoration shop to paint the tub, front clip, etc. next month. I have been slowly preparing the next steps.
I had BESRK build a front bumper and rear swing out carrier. I will have those powdercoated and will install with the newly painted tub. What amazing work he does! Great guy to work with, too! Thanks Eddie!
No recent word from Daniel at Double D Fab, but I think the dash should be ready to ship soon. I will dress it with AutoMeter gauges, LED lights for the indicator lights and a Tuffy glove box.
As for the center console, I was originally going to go with a Tuffy, but after E-mailing back and forth with Phil at MaxBilt, I am leaning towards his 'Command Console'.

I have been collecting a few parts here and there for the rebuild. Some NOS plastic parts and emblems, new tail lights, cowl seal, rubber pieces, and body mounts. I also ordered several Kentrol stainless accessories and a Totally Stainless bolt kit. I can safely say that my Jeep project that turned into an addiction is slowing becoming an obsession!!
I am going with the original Jeep Red 3b from 1984. Two coats of base and 3 coats of clear. The underside of the tub will have the same color red tinted bedliner, as will the wheel wells. The inside of the tub will get an extra couple coats of clear. I decided not to line it with bedliner because of the overall pristine condition of the tub. I just couldn't do it.

All I can say is that tub looks real clean and those bumpers came out sick. Your Jeep is gonna be a real sweet ride when your done.

Great choice! That is a beautiful tub! 75% of the guys on here would love to have a tub that looked that good. Personally, I don't like bed liner on the inside of a Jeep and it's great to see people make the choice not to use it.

Thanks, Jody! I certainly lucked out. I literally drove by this one. It was sitting in the side of somebody's house untouched for over 10 years. The owner had moved out of state and left the Jeep at his dad's house. The price was right and I grabbed it to part out for some extra money. Once I took it apart, I realized how lucky I was. I actually found the bill of sale in the glove box. It was purchased in Arizona.
