The problem,

Clip on air chuck doesn't go on far enough , resulting in not enough air or none at all going in the tire. Not a big deal when adding a couple pounds. However when airing up from trail pressures, ( from 4 to 7, up to in the 20's ) this can be a pain, and take awhile. Yes, I could just hold it on, but I'm lazy, and it still takes time to fill a 36/13.50/15 tire x4.
As seen in the picture, the valve stem won't go on far enough.

These are the 3 parts we're working with.

image-1844404210.jpg

The solution.
The new 90 degree adapter. It has a thinner shank to go further into the chuck. I bought 2 of them at a camping store for $11.
I wouldn't use the adapters on the trail, for fear of sticks getting in and pulling the rubber stem out.

I do use this on the trail, but it still requires bending down, it's hard on the knees /back and cuts circulation to toes.
It also needs a new guage after only 10 or so times using it. Brand is Cambell- Hausfeld. Just found out why the guage is bad. It says right on the handle 100 psi max. I run 150 on my OBA, whoops.

The benefit to a rubber shrader valve is that it has a better chance to bend when something rigid hits it, like a branch. The metal shraders are good but they can be pulled out or broken off when a stick gets caught behind it. That has happened to me before. Since your toe circulation gets cut off maybe you should stop using your feet when you air up your tire? Remove the lock on your chuck and it will fit the rubber valve. Sit on the ground (evening up your blood pressure, thus eliminating your pale toe syndrome) when you air up your tires. And have compassion for the guy whose wheels no longer hold air!

If I sit on the ground, my but will get dirty, in turn, that could soil my seats. Then I have to get back up x4.

I have air chucks without the clamp thing. I want to use the clamp,

Like this.

image-3315477341.jpg

Next time I put air in the tires from 4 to 22/24 lbs. I'll have to check how long it takes.

Since I'm posting again.

I keep my wife happy today. Here's proof!

I like the clamp on chuck Bill. Good idea.

I thought your natural charm and rugged looks are what kept Vick happy. I'm not lettin my wife hear about your kitchen remodel cause she's been talking about it lately. Like I need another project!

A little vacation did you good George,( I did over 4000 mi. So yours was little.) you came back sharp as a tack, and with a sharp eye.

It only looks that way from the top. You must have been standing on a stool to look at my picture. I saw your picture, send me your address , I'll send you a comb. Your getting close to the Don King look.

Nice job on the counter tops. For a moment I thought you had clear ones! I predict wallpaper will be next.

I was thinking, yes thinking. You're STILL going to have to bend over to attach that fine piece of afroasian engineering to the valve stem. Maybe you should get a 3' extension?? I'll bet HF has them already!

Thanks Scott, Vicki picked out the top, she's happy. I didn't care, I thought the 25 year old one was fine, it didn't look wore out.

I think you would need to do the tire filling thing as much as I have, you might feel different about it.

Taking the Grandson camping over by Jim1611. Can't go without a Jeep, so he drove his in and we bungee corded it in.

Bill, I was told by one of my mentors, that before he will cut me loose as a full yellow helmet and OIC, i need to go ride in detroit, or baltimore for one shift.

The amount of fire and fatality that exist in these districts is just astounding.
