A little CJ time this morning. In my previous CJ the snow plow controls were under the dash, this was a pain in the adds. Unless your arms are like a Orangutan (Skerr) or a Gorilla (Gmakra)

image-3493534530.jpg

So I moved them to the less than expensive Walmart Center counsel. ($29) a bracket was needed to secure the control , to keep it in the proper Orientation.

Finished.

Lucdog update on the Santa parade. Neither the CJ or TJ were used to pull the float, to many people wanted to go, ( wife, 2 daughters and 2 Grand kids. So I took the next best option, I traded my '02 crew cab Powerstroke longbed 4X4 for a family float puller .

image-371273521.jpg

No, it doesn't have a Hemi, it's just a 6 banger with 350 HP, and 800 ft. lbs. of torque!!! As seen, the Grandson loves the sunroof. Plus, it matches the toy hauler.

image-1022040234.jpg

The best think for me is the backup camera in the tailgate, hooking up a trailer no longer requires 3 or 4 trips from the cab to the trailer to align the ball with the tongue of the trailer. Its great !!!

Hope everyone had a great holiday!!

Bill

Thanks Daniel, the inside looks better than the outside.

Correct Will, Just like a 258!!

I'm Anxious to see how the exhaust brake works.

Yep. And I bet the yuppie rig gets special garage preferences over the rest of Bill's fleet.

I guess it's natural to get a little soft when you get his age.

Sorry George, no heated Poodle holder, I do have a heated steering wheel though.
I'm not the only one with heated seats either, I seem to remember YOU telling me about Donna wanting heated seats in your CJ, so she said JUMP, and you said how hi on the way up.

Knucklehead ( that was funny), no, the new to me RAM isn't in my garage, and neither is my wife's Grand Cherokee (2011) .

The garage is full though, with a ,84 Grand Wagoneer, and my '79 Cj7. The '80 CJ 5 is napping in the toy hauler, the '83 really nice CJ is at the MIL's while she's in Texas for the winter.

So where's the RAM at, :-) , in the neighbors garage on a battery tender. ( he winters in Florida) The RAM ( no, it's not a Dodge) won't see the light of day until spring.

And a top o the mornin to you Matt.

Bill

Here's the add from the Dodge dealer where I traded the Ford truck at.

image-49557900.jpg

They made a couple mistakes, it's only been the last 6 or 7 years that I didn't drive it in the winter. And it only sat in the garage for a week out of the last 12 years.

When asked if I chipped the 7.3 I told them no, they didnt ask if I used a downloader ,

They also didn't ask if the ball joints were good, or if I towed anything, ( the holes in the hitch were egg shaped) and did I think the tranny was ok. ( it needed Ball joints, and I was concerned with the tranny.

They also didnt ask if the gas pedal and the gauges ever quit working , I never figured this problem out, I installed a 10 amp circuit breaker in the fuse box. The day before I traded the truck I noticed the front axle seal had started to leak, they test drove the truck for 5 minutes , and ask if the 4 WD worked (yes it did, but the lockouts needed service) . They also told me the remote mirrors weren't working from inside the truck, I knew that.

Bill

Edit, this F350 served me well for the 12 years I drove it. IIRC I only put $300 in it the entire time, 2 U joints, a carrier bearing for the driveshaft, and a fan belt w/ idler pulley.

Hey, Heated Steering Wheel, now that I wish I had, they can take the heated seats and, well you know. I need an air conditioned seat and heated steering wheel.

I don't know if the seats are air conditioned, there is a fan under the seat though. I think it just blows cabin air.

Haha a buddy of mine rode in a truck with AC seats, when he got out of the truck, he told me it felt like he wet himself.

Guess the cold pants could make it fell that way when you step out into the air, but with leather seats my seat ends up damp as it is from no air movement.
