That would be the regulator for my air bottle. You are correct about being strapped down.

Chris, the seats were in the Jeep when I bought it. They are Leon Rosser. I believe he was a big Jeep/Eagle dealer back in the day.

And here's your water bottle holder MoC, it will also hold Diet Dr. Pepper.

If your to tall and gangley to reach around to get the bottle. I have a Coozie with a strap , you can hang it around your neck.

Changed some tires around today. I took off the 35/12:50/15 tires from these 6x5.5 rims.

image-2954553048.jpg

On to these rims 5x5.5" for use at Silver Lake Sand dunes at the end of September.

image-1729296791.jpg

They are going on this Jeep with only a 3" spring lift. I imagine the rear wheel wells will need cut, and the flares removed.

image-4206019638.jpg

There are 33" super Swamper's on it now. I counting on the used All Terrains are closer to 33.5"/34, while I know the SS's are a little over 33".
The reason for this is I feel like radials will be better in the sand. And the TA's are a "C" rated tire, vs a D rated on the Swampers. So I should get a little more flex out of the tire at the same 12 psi.

Also, I had some problems last year at the dunes on long hill climbs. The engine was cutting out near the top , I believe I've found out why, I think I was running out of fuel, ( float bowl not being big enough on the q-Jet carb.)
I read this here--> http://bosshosshelp.com/Menu%20Items.../quadrajet.htm

As best memory serves, the biggest climb took about 20 seconds. This was also at 4000 + or - rpm.

So, you might ask, why not just back out of the skinny pedal. Here's why. Loss of momentum and wheel speed. So when you get back into the gas ( plenty of power with the 360) the tires start spinning, and you slow down and dig a hole. This also means backing down a 300' hill and trying again. It took me 4 attempts on the first try. I made it within 15' of the top. One fix for the fuel issue is go FI. The other as I see it is a Holley 670 TA. I don't have the time for FI, so I'm going with the 670. After I bent the front axle I rode in a CJ with a built SBC 383. He was running a 670, and didnt have a problem.
As far as the Quadrajet I still feel its the best all around carb. Except for sand dunes.

Bill

Should be interesting.

I also found there is a learning curve on sand dunes. The Q-trac jeep I used has a 360, 4.10 gears and bias ply 33" LTB Super Swampers. I really didnt think I would have any issues on the dunes, I was wrong. My cousin with a stock '98 TJ with a 4.0L and a 5 speed with basically street tires, and not even a limited slip diff in the rear did better than me.
I am a little concerned with 35's on the Dana 30, like I said, I will be interesting.

It's not the Q-trac, it works fine. It's the fuel and bias tire, on the sand hills. I never tried it in normal drive, this Jeep also has welded rear spiders, and a front lock rite .
