Here's the plan for the fuel pickup. Remove the electric pump. Add some SS or aluminum tube with a sock. NAPA and Carquest no tube, crap 30 miles to the sped shop.
Well I figured something out. I recently removed a CJ tank because of rust issues, it was leaking at the bottom.
Hey, take the sending unit out, see what I've got.
Cool, I think I'm in business.

Had to cut 2" off the horizontal part, to get the sock in the tray.

When I pulled the tank out of the side plate yesterday, there are no drain holes. I think I'll cut a 1" hole in the lowest part.

Be careful Old Man... I don't want to read about you! Having a half-inch at the bottom will make a nice reserve! Nice work, Bill. I like that little tubing bender. Might have to get one to have!

Just lucky I guess, or old. After painting the parts yesterday at work, and letting them dry, I put them at the back of the Jeep to load them this morning.
After driving 12 miles, I arrive home, walk around the back of the Jeep, and find this on the taillight.

On edit, I just took that picture this afternoon. I then left to get some cigars, drove 8 miles. Came out from from the cigar shop. Guess what was still on the light.
You have got to be kidding me. Haha ask me about driving to a fire call, afterwards back at the station there's the coffee cup still on the front bumper.(this happends a lot with everybody)

I would positively have a conniption! I would kick myself all the way across the yard if I lost the part because of something like that! I TOLD you that you're blessed! LUCdog...

I think your right Scott.
The name Lucdog came from a Newfoundland dog we had for 8.5 years. Just a awesome friend he was. The girls named him Lucky. He weighed 135#, all black. When he died, he was to big to put in the ground. So I had him cremated. Now he just hangs out in the basement. Search Newfoundland dogs to read about them. There a natural born rescue dog. Funny thing is, ours wasn't fond of swimming.

He looked just like the top picture. Bottom picture was the youngest Daughters High School picture in 2005.

That's beautiful, Bill. What a nice piece of memorabilia. Be sure to keep it in the house, where it is climate controlled, and hit it with a little furniture poilsh. The wood will appreciate it!!

A little progress today, UPS delivered a new transmission pan, and I got it installed.
Also picked up a B&M shifter. Its going in Wednesday, along with the used 4wd lever. Sprayed some Permatex undercoating on the inside of the fuel tank skid.
