Yep, I love my Dodge Trucks as well:

1946 Dodge Power Wagon
1949 Dodge Power Wagon
1953 Dodge M37
1964 Dodge W500 Power Wagon Fire Truck
2006 Dodge Megacab

ram is a model to me not a brand. The Dodge Trucks brand was killed of by some marketing geek trying to make a name for them selves, or a finance guy looking to sell off the trucks and needed a different name for them when they sell.

Will, everyone knows what a '06 looks like, post some pictures of the Power Wagons, and a brief description of each.

I agree. At least mine is old enough that it still has some of that classic spirit as well as a sturdy tailgate.

image-3467664496.jpg

1 ton o hay. Two bales on tailgate, plus I stood on both. That's 400 lbs without a squeak.

The 1946 Dodge Power Wagon was the first factory four wheel drive truck on the market for consumers and companies. Based on the highly successful Dodge WC 4x4's used in WWII, with some mid 40's Dodge Pickup and the special trucks Dodge built for the Chinese sheet metal, they launched a line of hard working 4x4 trucks for use on the Farm/Ranch and Commercial customers. These trucks served the utility companies stringing line and setting pols in some of the harshest non-accessible areas of the US. They also served as a primary work truck in the oil discovery boom in the Mid-East as well. Here are pictures of my 1946 and my 1953:

The 1953 Dodge M37, is a 3/4 ton Military Cargo, Weapons and Troop truck that superseded the Dodge WC Series. A Lot of people mistakenly think it's a Jeep at first glance, but it's all truck. the Truck served in the Koren war, and in many military actions and service since. It was succeeded by trucks derived from commercial vehicles, including the Kaiser M-715 and Dodge M-880. Eventually almost all of the U.S. military light duty trucks were replaced by the HMMWV. Here is a Picture of mine:

Tell ya what guys. These trucks look even better in person ! Will is a Talented mechanic, as well as a really good guy.
The M37 is a very capable off road truck, lockers , FI 318, and 37" IROCs, he doesn't take it easy either, a close up of the running boards would show that.
Thanks for the pictures Will.

Bill

Your welcome Bill, and the IROKS are 39.5's! If you can't make it through finesse, just give it more skinny pedal. :-)

Nope, no mistake!

I'm putting the Q-trac jeep to work tomorrow. If you remember the big a$& tree that fell in July.

image-3652845594.jpg

I gave it to a friend/co-worker who is a wood worker. The plan is to cut 8' lengths and winch the pieces out of the ravine.
I also have another Jeep project underway. On our last off road trip in November I broke a Dana 44 axle shaft.

image-1442858796.jpg

image-1622237104.jpg

The studs and brake backing plate are removed from the shaft. I'm sending it to Moser to have a new one made. i didn't even here it break.
