Bill how do you get your stubby arms up to the Jeep from the creeper?

Do they make lift kits for them?

Lift blocks. Sometimes I winch the Jeep vertical using a tree branch on my shade tree. Then I just stand on a box or ladder.

Actually Matt , my creeper has a air bags, you know like those low riders in California. I just pump them up. 24's are on the upgrade list.

The only problem with going to Jim's is there never seems to be enough time, didnt even talk about hunting and shooting, and I brought one with me.

It was great meeting you Dave, I'm looking forward to the next time. It was well worth the 6+ hour round trip, Haha I believe we spent 6 hours at Jim's also.

When Jim asked me if I had any requests' my first words were Blackberry cobbler. Patti made a great meal, and Jim cooked some great pork steaks on the grill.

Nope, when the Amigos posed for the picture my iPhone exploded.

I've been to Jim's 4 different times. I'm thinking the next time I go I'll pitch a tent and stay for a week, right next to Jim's lake.

Scott, I googled the Marlin 39a. I was shocked at the price. I don't know what I'm going to do, but am leaning towards the Henry 22 wmr. I thinking the 22 mag. because I already have a Ruger 10-22, and want something with a little more fps. My google search showed a 22lr at 1200/1300 fps. The mag is 2200, that should be enough to set off some Tannerite. If it doesn't I'm also looking at a .223 in the form of a AR style rifle. I'm taking my time with this. Don't need to be in any hurry.

Bill

So 2 weeks ago I took a spare Th400 ( factory tranny for a Quadratrac) to a friend. With his help a manual valve body was installed. This valve body is also a shift kit. Long story short, I finished the install today.

On the first drive I had a huge smile on my face, everything worked great. This thing shifts right now, in fact it shifts so good, when I ran the engine up to 2500 rpm and hit 2nd gear the tires chirped.

Probably a good thing I put new U-joints in the rear driveshaft.

Before I leave for the sand dunes trip next weekend I'm going to change the distributor to a reman unit. This is to increase the advance curve, get a new vacuum advance, and replace the used one I put in.
I've checked the gear , it's ok.
I am going to replace the cotter pins with roll pins , this is the way them were when new.

To me there is too much play , and the cap doesn't seem to be as tight as it should, you can see the slop.

The roll pins should decrease the distance by 1/2 the distance shown in the picture. If I can't find the correct size roll pin I going to use a machine screw with a nylock.

Also going to add a Dedicated ground, to one of 2 places. Either use a longer machine screw and nylock nut in the advance, or a self tapping screw in the other hole shown.
