Ok guys, this is the Absolute coolest part of my week long Jeeping trip. Tomorrow, a Army Blackhawk pilot is wheeling with us in his buggy. Coiz, it's powered by a 347ci Cobra engine! This pilot has the patience of a saint, to answer all the questions I've asked him about flying, for the last 3 hours. It's just beyond words to describe how cool it is to talk to this Army Veteran. He also has 2000 hours in the Black Hawk.

I am truly humbled to be in the presents (sp) of this man. I don't know how many times he's been deployed. But it's a honor to know him.
Stand by for what I hope to be some awesome pictures tomorrow.

He has also offered to let me drive his buggy to see what it's like, I am pumped up to say the least!!!

Generally Not recommended in bull riding.

One of our club members has a little problem today. A bent tie rod And a broken pinion. Right in the middle of a hard hill climb. The rear wheels were locked up, so, we pulled both axle shafts on the trail. Then removed the carrier and reinstalled the axles. The head of the pinion locked up the ring gear so the axles wouldn't rotate. This was on a '05 Rubicon LJ, with 37" tires. We spent 2.5 hours in 96* degree heat, getting the jeep off the trail.
Pics later,

Bill

I don't think that award will be going to me for 2013.

A broken pinion and a bent tie rod, trump my bent steering stabilizer, ten fold.

I forgot something. The same owner who broke the pinion, also did major damage ($3000) to the tailgate and sides of his truck. This happend while he was sitting in the Jeep to back off the trailer. The Jeep was in 4 low, and first gear when he started it. Apparently the netural/safety switch wasn't working.
