You need to clean all of the mud out of those rotor fins, let them babies breath.

Hey do those Precision u-joints have the grease zerk on the cross or on the end of a cap? Or did you get the solid ones?

On the cap.

The mud is hi-tech rotor balancing, the idea being pack them full, once you hit 88 mph the excess flys off and their balanced. So why is there so much mud left on them you might ask. Well bad things happen at 88 mph, I didn't want to end up in 1955 on October 26.

Good news on The Lucdog front. My wife called and said the box from Moser Engineering arrived today, talk about quick , they called me Tuesday to confirm payment and to start on the axle shaft. They are only 6 hours east of me. But still, That's customer service!
Made the part Tuesday or Wednesday, shipped it and I got it Friday.

And I got the bearings all packed, seals put in and ready to install. Just need the U-bolts, some shocks and pick up the new TRE's tomorrow.

Or combo of the 3, those Jelly beans are good.

The wife and Grand Daughter kept me busy today, I was doing good to get the seals on the stub shafts, axles installed along with the spindles.

A FYI, peeps are best if you let the package sit open for 3 days. Makes them nice and chewy. :-)

Since you mentioned Big R, they put it in a old Walmart store. 5 blocks from the TSC . Used to be TSC would have a dozen or more cars in the lot at any given time. Now there are 1 or 2 cars there, "R" has 2 dozen.
This TSC has Larin brand tools like engine hoist, creepers, jacks, ECT. They bare a striking Resemblance to Harbor Frieght stuff, only painted red. I see no difference in outward appearance. And they're more expensive than HF.

I would have gotten more done today, had someone not called me.

Anyway, the axle is setting on the springs and U-bolts need torqued. Tie rod and drag link installed, sleeves still loose for any final adjustment, toe in set and steering wheel centered. Brake rotors/hubs installed need to set preload on the bearings, and install and torque the outer nut and bend the washer. New cheap shocks installed.

I'm not done yet. Brakes on, and hub bearings set and washer bent over.
I like to leave the caliper off when setting the bearings. I also put the wheel/tire on.

Used this to bend the washer.

So what's left.
1.) driveshaft
2.) diff fluid
3.) grease the TRE's and put the cotter pin in the castle nuts.
4.) bleed the front brakes while the tires are still off.
5.) tighten the sleeve bolts on the drag link, road test, readjust as needed.
6.) might as well put the steering stabilizer back on.
7.) install the lockouts.
8.) check the torque on the wheel spacers and put the wheels back on.

You better put the wheels back on BEFORE the road test. It'll be a much more gratifying experience. Just sayin...
