bestop supertop black vs. black denim

I am getting a new top. What is the difference in black and black denim from Bestop? Pros and Cons?

There's only one difference - color. The black is black while the black denim is black at night and a dark gray during the day. It kind of looks like a faded black. It's okay if all your accessories are the same - roll bar cover, etc.

The regular Black is sort of like the black you'd find on a vinyl roof. It's a bit 'shiney', with a mild bit of 'texturing':

I just bought a Black Denim Top for my CJ5. The Denim is a stronger material than the vinyl. Plus in the winter the vinyl cracks and is hard to maneuveor.

On a gray Jeep you really notice the grayness of the denim, but I really liked the denim black:

Hey HighFive, thanks for the compliment! I'd love to raise mine up a bit like yours but the wife and child already have a problem getting in! we need a Gray Jeep Club!

I ended up with a mix of black (seats / bikini) and black denim (roll bar pad, top). I may swap the seats for denim in the future if they arent as hot in the summer sun.

Hey Hook, did you end up ordering the top? Post up some picks once you got it on.

Don't worry Hack, so many other projects I would like to get knocked out, and I like its road manners like it is!

The PO said it was a Jeep color, but not the correct year. My assumption would be an 86 Charcoal Metallic, but if anyone on here has that and can confirm, that would be great. I need to get off my duff and get some touchup paint, so that will probably be when I can confirm the color.
