bestop question

i have a new supertop on my cj7 and im running the full doors now. im thinking of getting some hard soft doors and then purchasing some soft uppers to match the softop.

this is my question, being that cj's didnt come with half doors and the yj soft uppers are different than the cj's soft uppers ( square vs round ) am i going to run into and troubles finding a soft upper from bestop that fit the yj door?

i thought i read that the soft uppers for a cj wont slide into a yj hard half door. I know i read some place that the three dowel pins are in different locations ??? can anyone confirm? i found a good deal on half hard door but not sure i should get them yet.

YJ and CJ supertops are the same. Get uppers for a YJ, and YJ hard 1/2 doors, and it should all fit together fine. I actually ordered a YJ top for mine so the soft doors would close on my hard door striker pins. You can order parts directly from Bestop if you just need a part or two.

im still a little confussed, doesnt the yj soft uppers have a square top back corner to them? if so is that what i should order and it will fit my cj top? wont that be a problem if i put my hard top on and want to run my half doors with the soft uppers?

bestop soft doors have have a rounded rear corner just like factory hard doors. half hard doors with soft uppers will be fine with a soft top.

factory soft uppers from jeep had square corners, and won't fit the curved hard door opening in the hardtops.

You'll have YJ 1/2 doors, with uppers from a Supertop for a YJ with 1/2 hard doors. Not factory YJ uppers, but Bestop uppers.

My besttop soft top has a square opening in the top, and the doors are square. It is old... The new ones are all rounded (bestop). Basically square only fits square and round only round. I know this because when the time comes I have to buy all new doors and top.

all of the Bestop Supertop softops have square (ish) door openings- it has nothing to do with the shape of the door that fits it.

all the supertops I've ever seen have rounded door openings. The "replace-a-tops" have square openings, because they are just the top skin to go over the factory YJ frame assembly.

^^ correct- I was more referring to the shape of the doors, and why they don't work with a hardtop
