best D300 clocking ring?
I see three models. Advanced Adapters, JB conversions and Go2Guy Engineering. Advanced and JB come with new shafts, Go2Guy's kit is made out of 5/16 thick piece of steel and does not offer a new shaft. Any reports. I bonked my stock skid plate pretty bad and disconnected both driveshafts winching over a rock. I had some rear shaft vibration coming home, but it did make it home on it's own power. Upon pulling it back apart for a good cleaning of the driveshafts, I see I had the rear shaft one spline out of alignment, accounting for the vibration.
I pulled the transfer case and am having it looked at for bent shafts and bearing play. It's got a lot of miles (200k conservative guess) and it is literally the only thing not yet "rebuilt or replaced" on the entire drivetrain. So, since it's out, time for a clocking plate. I have to build a new skid plate anyhow, might as well do it right. I don't think I'll make it completely flat across my frame rails since I don't want to rework the exhaust also, just take out that hump that hangs down and inch or two where the D300 resides. jeepmor

It's basically a question of whether you want "it'll still be fine" with the Go2Guy, Xtreme, Trout, etc. or "factory-like spline engagement ala the replacement $haft versions from AA and JB. I've never ever heard of any problems with either route, so it's really as matter of your comfort level and wallet.
