My combat boots that I wore in Afghanistan. They feel like a pair of house slippers even though the CDC might list them as a bio hazard.

Hey, at least I took the time to clean out my toe jam before posting a pix of my feet. That's gotta be worth something

Also I don't understand how anyone can wear flip flops they cannot be comfortable, and I see no purpose you might as well go barefoot. I'd rather go barefoot then wear them damn things.

Well, like anything else, you get what you pay for and that includes flops. Snag yourself a pair of Reef's and give yourself a week to break them in.
Anyways, I don't get why people wear boots. I guess they do look hot with cut off Wrangler blue jeans and a sleeveless flannel shirt......

Oh, I wear the Reefs with the bottle opener on the soles. If I could wear them to work I would.

I've had excellent wear with the Cabelas Trail Lite Hikers. I like them over every other pair I have ever owned. I wear boots every day of my life. First, IMO, is they should be waterproof, and that means Gore-Tex. If it doesn't say Gore-Tex, then don't believe for a second they are waterproof just because they say so. They're lyin'! Nothing worse than having wet feet inside wet boots. Gore-Tex is not hot or uncomfortable. A nylon and leather combination is a very comfortable boot, and they should have good arches. Vibram soles are good and wear well... been around for many years.

I think it all depends where you wheel and what conditions you're in. Period.

2 things, 1, I wear work boots all day, have had them all, have hated them all, what i'd wear on the trail usually depends on the trail, if getting serious i'd go with columbia hikers, just goofing around, tenners or even flip flops.
now number two, I wear flip flops and slides quite abit, and I've worked construction about 20 years, hunted, fished and all that for longer, i've probably ate and dranks god knows what over time, i've ate food thats been sitting on my dash all day warming up, i've drank beer that i've found sitting in the garage for who knows how long. I've spent the day baiting hooks, and un hooking fish and only clean my hands of at best in the lake i'm in, and still eat. But I would NEVER open my beer bottle from the bottom of my shoe, something about that is just WRONG!

Agree and that's why I strictly drink from twist off bottles. My flops are great for parties because drunk people seem to be amazed that I have bottle openers on my soles.
