Batmn77 Build Thread - Jax, Fl

I figured I would put a thread together documenting by restoration. I am not doing a frame up restoration, I am doing something to get this heep on the road! This will be my daily driver!

This is what I started with:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...n/DSC07122.jpg

First thing I did was replace the carb and add an HEI distributor.

Cleaned up the battery tray:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...n/DSC07140.jpg

Used this to paint the dash pad and seats:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...n/DSC07129.jpg

Stripped the interior:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...n/DSC07250.jpg

Some rust under the roll bar, not too bad:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...n/DSC07255.jpg

Took out the dash panel, removed the steering wheel. (Very easy to do and did not want to ruin a good dash panel by cutting it)

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...n/DSC07282.jpg
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...n/DSC07289.jpg

Finally figured out how to get the knobs off for the wipers and fan!

Salvaging the knobs, cleaned them up with a boat stain/mildew cleaner:

Looks very good so far! What kind of paint did you use on the needles?

I just bought a small (krylon?) spray paint can of bright/neon orange. Sprayed enough in a cup to make a small puddle and then used a tiny little paintbrush to paint it on.

Question for ya'll... I am going to be doing the blazer heater mod. I have read that people suggest getting the one with the shorter shaft but my CJ-7 has a/c so do i need the blazer motor that is made for a/c (longer shaft)?
