axle shaft seals

I am replacing spindle bearngs and seals on my 1979 jeep golden eagle.I am pretty sure it has a dana30 axle.In my factory service manual it shows replacing a seal behind the u-joint before it goes in the tube.I know there are seals in the tube before the differential but is there supposed to be seals here too. there are flanged collars here like on the other side of the u-joint for the spindle bearing seal but I can't find pics anywhere beside my manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's not a true 'seal'.
