I will get a cheapie allen head socket from the parts house, one of the 2.99 specials and an extension to match, then put it in the plug, whack the end of the extension with a 3lb hammer a few times, usually that is enough to loosen em up. Also it may be worth the while to check the push rods to see if they are straight. easiest way is to pull em and roll em across a piece of glass, if they lump they are bent.
