Question Anyone tried this?

I just helped my church minister move and he used to be a mechanic. He gave me an unused rebuilt 350 turbo 3-speed automatic tranny. Can I fit it in my 61 M38A1? It has an early 70's Chevy 350 in it now with a Spicer transmission and a Warn all range overdrive. The overdrive doesn't work, and all I have is normal range (pretty slow!!) I also have a Dana 30 front, Dana 44 rear.
Is it practical?
Thanks. Benny6.

Practical? Hell, it should bolt right up. The difference will blow you away.

Do you want to sell the OD unit? If so how much shipped to Maine? Thanks!

If at first you don't succeed ...don't try skydiving!

I'm not sure if I want to get rid of the overdrive yet. I like the looks I get when people see 4 stick shifts popping out of my floorboards! I'll keep it in mind though. The problem now is that when you engage the overdrive the stick pops right back out. It grinds gears if you try to hold it in. I just don't know anything about manual tranny's. I've rebuilt automatics before.
