Anyone running steps or rocker guards on a glass tub?

I'm looking to add some sort of step to my CJ7 with 4wd fiberglass tub. My wife (and everyone else) complains that it is too hard to climb into as is.

I was considering an OEM style step, but not sure the floor would take that stress, and also considering rocker guards with a step rail off the side. Have any of you installed steps or guards on a glass tub successfully?

The other noteworthy detail is the 4wd tub also has a 1" body lift built in supposedly, and has a mounting plate between body mounts 2 and 3, which make lining up rockers difficult.

I used to have tubes that you could step up on. Those bolted right onto the frame so there would be no issue with the glass.

I was looking to avoid "nerf bars". I would prefer functional-ish rockers, or OEM style steps. I don't want to lower clearance significantly if possible.

Can't say as I blame you. Main reason why I don't have them anymore they look good sometimes, just not my personal preference or style.

Just put these on mine. http://white-knuckleoffroad.com/jeepcj7.htm

Love them. The mount to the frame and are very strong. They also have an option for a 1" body lift.

Do you have a glass tub? Which one? Although they mount to the frame, 4wd's tub mounts differently and there is a plate between the 2 and 3 side mounts, which would obstruct this.

Would you please follow up with pics and how you mounted them to the glass body? These are exactly what I want with the tube step. I'm hoping they'll clear the body mounts and that I'll be able to bolt to tub underside.

the bolts all go through the side of the body, none underneath, the rocker guard tucks under the body about 2 inches or so, so no issues interfering with the body mounts.

I will post pictures up when I get them mounted

Thanks. The floor is thicker on the glass tubs though, so the part that tucks underneath could interfere with the floor height, not letting the rocker sit flush if too low. If too tall you could use spacers, but I doubt that is the case.

Nope, no glass tub. These mount to the frame, not the tub.

First pic is "Before", second pic is "After" and the rest just show how it mounts up. I am 5'7" and 225lbs and these things don't flex in the slightest with me using them as steps to get in and out.

As I understand it, tell Whiteknuckle you have a 1" body lift and they will move the sliders up an inch to cover the gap. They want the slider to sit 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch below the body.

Any updates from you guys? I'm not sure what will clear the 4wd Tub mounting plate when bolted to the frame. White Knuckle Offroad has one designed for a 1" body lift, which the 4wd tub has, but I think it will contact the 2/3 body mount plate.
