I liked it for what it was, a trail rig. But for it looked pretty un finished.

Yeah I caught it and agree the appearance wasnn't overly impressive. I was a bit disappointed that one week he rolled the big tires out and noted that the stock axles were going to be replaced on the next episode but then the next episode showed the whole thing done. Not sure how I missed his custom axle build. He only noted in passing that the front was a hybrid 14 bolt/dana 60. After watching him take it over the rocks he might have done well to have an episode shaving the diffs.....lol

There was an episode on the 14 bolt build. It was pretty cool to me since I have no experience with extreme 4x4 builds. The episode was in 2008 met the host at SEMA and asked him when they would pick up the build, he told me 2009.
I did not like the look of the CJ7 top on it either, I think it looks better than a CJ8 hard top but not as good as a full soft top.

He was really in love with that front end. He kept stumping us with that "guess what that is?" question. The 383 with the dual fuel setup was way cool. I personally didn't much care for the 7 top on an 8, but he wanted to do it and he did. Isn't that what we are all about? He built a runner, not a trailer queen, and had a blast running with the big boys that weekend. Really nice down to earth guy, as was Rusty.
