Anybody been to Potts Mtn. Jeep trail- i need info

Planning a trip to potts mountain jeep trail. And had a couple questions. Do all the the mud hole in particular have a bypass ? And I know there is The Pines campground which is free but I prefer camping off the trail. Is there any where to camp off the trail ?- any open areas or anything ?

All the mud holes have bypasses. There is a big field at the top of the mountain which is a fantastic place to camp. We are actually going up to run the trail sunday.

Thats cool as crap man. Is there a view of the mountains from the field or not so much ? Also , how close is the nearest convenience store for ice and beer ? How do you get to the field ? Is it on the trail ?

The trail actually runs through the field. When we camp we run the trail start to finish then go back up to the field to camp. The main overlook is about a half mile from the exit of the field. There is a town with a little gas station/store, a dollar general and a subway about 4 or 5 miles from the campground.

Just another tip. The trail is more fun if you start at the lower trailhead and run it to the upper

No. The lower trailhead is about a mile down the road from the campground.
