any info on this jeep appreciated

Hey all, new guy.
Looking at picking this up. Guys in no hurry to sell. Asking $1500.
Waiting for details now. Wondered what you guys could tell me about it/price just from pic.
I understand just guesses.
Thanks.

There are people on here with a lot more knowledge on the older CJs than me but, I'll give it a shot!
Pre 1972 short nose. Probably older based on the windshield wiper locations. I think thoes came with a four cylinder or a Buick V6. T90 three speed maybe. Dana 18 transfer case. Dana 44 rear, Dana 27 front.

Definatly from the 50's because of the split windshield possibly an M38A1 it would have the 134 ci 4 cylinder. Can you get us a pic of the passenger side

It does look like an M38A1 based on the windshield.

Didn't the M38A1 have reversed shackles? this doesn't appear to.

M38A1 would have a slave receptacle on the passenger side lower cowl panel

Early CJ5. Grill, shackles, grill mount, etc are all wrong for it to be a M38A1.

Check out this thread.

It looks to have a fair amount of rust in the fender and rocker. if its safe to assume the other side is the same and probably the floor pans as well I would flash a grand in front of him and see how bad he wants to sell it

I bought a 60 model that needed floor pans and pretty much the entire passenger side of the tub due to rust but was running and driving for $1500 recently
