any ideas where to pick up a t15 trans

I have a 72 cj5 with the 304/t15/dana20 line the transmission needs to be rebuilt. I'm looking to buy a complete transmission to throw in and then rebuild my old one for a back up. also any ideas where I might be able to get a harmonic balancer for the 304? I love my jeep but that t15 transmission is hard to find.

Although slightly smaller, I believe a T-14 will work too. You just move the cross member up one set of holes (about 1.5 to 2 inches).

Post a thread in JeepForum's Wanted forum for a T-15.

See above about the Wanted forum. You will need to identify whether you have a 3-bolt or 4-bolt pattern for the crank pulley and also the 7-digit part number stamped into the front of it. I have one 304 damper in good condition, but no idea if it is correct for you without those two pieces of info.

As far as new ones are concerned, there are a variety of vendors online. One I know of off the top of my head is DamperDoctor.com (no affilliation). They have a pretty good listing for AMC:

Damper Doctor Online: American Motors

Click on the motor and bolt pattern and the details will contain the 7-digit AMC part numbers.

This is how NAXJA Midwest Chapter elected officials like to treat their resident users and former multi-year supporters.
