Another Jeep restoration thread

I'm not very good at documenting things but here are some pics of my progress up until now. Here is the story...End of last summer I'm in the garage scratching at some crappy paint on the heep when next thing I know it's torn apart. I had originally planned on getting a paint job but figured if I was going to do it I would do it right. So the tub was scrapped I had the time nor paintence to repair my tub so I sold it to a guy that needed parts of it. I know how just not going to mess with it. I do not how some of the guys on here do but oh well.
Anyways My Jeep was mechanically fine so really all I have been doing is scouring over the whole thing sand blasting and painting parts replacing what is needed, and replacing fasteners with stainless ones. I have pretty much got the whole chassis done. I still need to do new motor mounts, clutch linkage, finish my brake lines, oil pan gasket and main seal and a little more painting here and there.

I'll try but usually I just get to working and next thing I know I have a crap load of stuff done with no pics.

Well after 8 months of looking for a good tub in reasonable driving distance I finally found a YJ tub in near mint condition near Dallas and went and picked it up 2 weeks ago. On the way home I dropped it off at the sand blaster mans house and he had it done the next day for get this....80 beans. Any way been working on it the last few days. I have got most of the big stuff done as far as tub swap modifcations go. I still have to do the defrost ducts which I'm not exactly clear on what needs to be done. Figure with in the next week start a little bodywork and them primer. After I get this thing on the chassis things should start to speed up a little I hope.

Looking really good. Does that back bumper bolt to the same places as the stock one?

I'd mount those rear flares a little higher up, otherwise you're goint to get a little contact a full droop...

Jeep looks awesome. Do you have any pictures of how the front bumper is mounted? I am going to order one from him soon so I was just curious. I can always drive up and see too if you don't mind, I'm in Fayetteville.

YJ Tub is mostly done and on. whole tub is etching primer right now. Bottom got new undercoat, firewall got por and black paint, and inside is getting either u-pol or herc real soon. All body mounts are still a little loose I'm having trouble getting the rear centered up. It is off about 1/2" to one side. Anybody got any tricks for that? Also picked up material for my rockers. 3/16" diamond plate 6"x2" got some tube coming to weld to them.

did you build or buy the tube fenders? where did you get them if you bought them?

I miss my yellow CJ, I've been looking for a color for my current build. My first CJ I painted mustang chrome yellow and I loved it..... mebey

NICE!!!!!! I like painting the body and keeping everything else black. I would guess you are painting the hood yellow and having a black window frame?
