another differential question

In the next day or two I will be doing the front and rear gear oil in my differentials. I have done it before on other trucks but when I was reading up it was mentioned that I may need an additive if I have a specific axle? I have a 1978 jeep cj5 levi edition. Thanks

Additives are generally used in limited slip differentials. You need to determine if you've got one. Some people just add it either way.

The additives make clutch type limited slip diffs "slip" easier. Putting limited slip additive in a housing with an open diff would be a waste of money. Just send me that money instead.

I have TrueLoc LS Lockers front and rear, and run Royal Purple. No issues.

Thanks 48willys
