I want to change from 3.31 to 4.10 on Amc 20 wide track installed in a CJ7. Does I have to change the differential case?
Thanks for your help.

No. On an AMC 20 3.07 and higher numerical ratios (up to 4.88) use the same case.

however, if that is the same gear your running in the front axle, then yes i believe that you have to change the carrier to go from 3.31 to 4.10's. i'm in this same boat with my 3.54's

I want to change the gear ratio in the front to 4.10 also that is a Dana 30. Here I believe that I have no choice I have to change the diff case.

For a Dana 30, the ratio split is 3.54 and down, 3.73 and up. If you have 3.54's you'll need to get a 3.73 diff case.
