amc 360 has different sized header bolts!

Are all amc 360's like mine or did my long block come with oiddball heads? I began installing the headers on my 360 with stage 8 locking bolts. I mnatched up the size from one of the bolts wich is 3/8 's and ordered the header bolt kit from summit. I now realize that the middle two bolts on each head are the only 3/8 bolts. The other four on each head are 5/16! I still think this is kind of odd especially when the header bolt kit from summit has all 3/8 bolts. Anyone else come across this? I'm having trouble finding locking bolts in 5/16.

yep, mine are the same way. The engine came out of a 1985 grand Wagoneer. As for the bolts I had the old ones still and reused them. Your motor isn't a freak... unless both of our 360's are weirdos...

I guess they were loose. I am missing all but two of my header bolts on each side! I think they fell out within the last day or so. What do I get to replace them? AMC 360.

Thanks Fuzz. I am getting the impression I can't just go to Lowes and pick up some bolts.
