Just a thought...bad torque converter? They have balance weights on them, too, but are not engine specific. Maybe you have a bad one that's out of balance.

Could a bad torque converter cause a different vibration based on different flex plates? The 304 flex plate has a very mild vibration, but the 360 flex plate shakes the whole jeep pretty bad.

Anything connected to the reciprocating assembly (crankshaft) that is out of balance can cause a vibration. If you go thru replacing/verifying all the external spinning stuff and it still vibrates, the next step might be yanking the whole spinning assembly and taking it to a machine shop that does engine balancing.. that would mean harmonic balancer, crank, rods, pistons, flexplate, converter and maybe even the crank pulley. I'd take it all and see what the machinist says..

WOW! That sounds a bit over my head. I wish I knew how to do all that, or had the time to do it. Maybe it is time for me to take it to a shop. Anyone in the So Cal area know a good diagnostic mechanic? I live in Corona.

It occurs all the time. I can't notice it as much while driving, but it is there. At idle it is just a very subtle shaking (kind of like the engine has a misfire), but at about 2000 rpms you can feel and hear it even better.
