amc 258 flex-plate bolts

i changed my tranny from manual to automatic and the bolts from the flywheel are to long for the flexplate. they are 3/4 long, has anyone bought shorter bolts 1/2x 1/2 x 20 tpi any help would be great!!! thanks in advance

Don't you need a different flywheel to change to auto?
