unless im in the rocks with some good binding i have to beat the piss out of the amc20 to brake it mine is trussed 1 piece shafts with the tubes welded . i also have a Detroit locker and 410 gears behind a 360 i have a pic of the hole jeep in the air if you wana see it and a few real steep hill climbs ... i dont think the 8.25 is as strong as my axle with the same amount of time you would spend swaping put in to the axle . dana 60 would be nice tho

The 8.25 is a C clip style axle. That can be another weakness.
