A friend of mine just told me that all AMC 20 pumkins are located to the far right side of the axle. I was under the impression that their were 20's made with the pumpkin dead center. I don't know much about this axle, but we were talking about a jeep I am concidering buying as a project that has an AMC20 in the rear. He said that all AMC20 pumkins are off to one side and that in order to swap to a better axle with a pumkin dead centered in the middle of the axle, you would have to change out the t-case or buy an adapter.
Any light you can shine on this is appreciated.

that is not true amc 20's pumpkin is in the centre i know thi becuase i had one before my 44's if you take a 20 and put one piece axles in them people will argue thwt they are stronger than 44's. i had one piece axle in mine and beat the hell out out of it and never broke anything they are good axles
