Alcohol in gas to pass smog test?

How much alcohol do you think I should add to my gas tank to pass smog? I just barely failed and the smog guy said to retard the timing as far as possible, throw some new plugs in, use premium gas and buy a screw on gas cap. I also heard that if you add a little alcohol to the gas it could help. So does 5 gallons of premium and on bottle of rubbing alcohol sound about right?
