Alabama Engine Swap (PICS)

The old six banger has been knocking for a while and it's time for her to rest.

The weather was nice in my little part of AL today so we started my engine swap from a 258 to a Fuel Injected 350 Chevy

Most of the parts are ordered so there was nothing left to do but the work.

I will be keeping the T177 and the Dana 300.

Day Two!

Made a small mistake pulling the engine, but it will be OK if funds hold out there will be a VANCO Hydroboost Hanging there.

My little minions working away, they are amazing, just give them Cokes and Oreos and they go and go!

Lookin good. If you take off the front clip it may make things easier with the install.

I'm chicken to mess up my crappy paint job. It came out OK and the SBC will be shorter I think. I will measure it to make sure, Thanks!

I just hung the crate engine on the stand and am currently going through all of the boxes that came in this week!

My 3 year old thinks that the UPS man is like Ho Ho (Santa)

Received my GM crate engine ( GM Performance 12568758)this week.

Put it on the stand and started test fitting some things to it before I paint it Chevy Orange.

Most of my parts came in EXCEPT my flywheel and clucth set

Does anyone know the applications that Advanced Adapters uses for their 11inch clutch set and 86 and up 168 tooth flywheel?

They are on back order until 3/14/10.

Today is a pretty good day in AL so I did a little painting.

I need to be playing with wires, but I've been a little under the weather.

Man I wish I could be there to help too. you live in a beautilful area. i used to ride over there from Atl. to ride hwy 281 to Cheaha.
that paint looks amazing! what color will your engine bay be?

Thanks, The engine bay will be a semi gloss black china mart spray job.

Recieved the kit from Affordable Fuel Injection today, I've been going through it. I can't wait to get it all hooked up.

Had a pretty buisy weekend last week. My oldest son and I went to the junkyard and
picked up a different ac bracket for the serpentine pully setup that we are using on our engine.
We spent a good part of our day after that working on installing the intake and most of the stuff to get the engine closed up.
Pulled it up to TDC and installed the distributor and the plugs.
Got the throttle body installed as well.
The breather I bought is a little smaller than I expected, but it will do for now.

I received the dash insert from Daniel at Double D Fab this week. It looks very nice and of high quality.

Used today to get it ready to go in the jeep( RAIN RAIN!). Painted it with Rustolem Fine Textured Black.
We then installed all of our Autometer gauges and the cheepo radio.
My camera has trouble with the dark and light.
