Air cleaner housing for an 84 cj7

I can't seem to find a stock replacement air cleaner housing for my 84 CJ7. I see plenty of K&N and stuff but i just want a standard air cleaner housing. When i bought this this jeep it had a dinky little 4" air cleaner and i want to go back stock so i can get the breather tube hooked back up. Any sources out there I must be looking in the wrong places. Thanks Mike

Ebay, craigslist, or the wanted section going to be your best bet. We also need to know some info about your jeep. What engine? Power Brake Booster?

You 'might' have manual brakes, but you better check because the two air filters don't mix or match.

Go look at the brake master cylinder to see if it is bolted directly to the firewall or if there is a big round vacuum booster between it and the firewall.

Manual brakes then.

Just a thought, if you ever maybe wanted more stopping power, it is real easy to switch to power brakes so you might want to just get the air filter for power brakes now. That one will work for both systems, the manual brake air filter only works on them.

One sits on the carb, the manual one. The other sits on the valve cover with a snout over the carb so there is room for the brake master to move forward to fit the booster behind it.

Here is a power version. If I remember correctly a 1987-1992 YJ air clears work also. Might have luck at finding someone parting out a YJ or finding one in a junk yard.

My friend is a former AMC mechanic, and he said it's just a pacer air cleaner. If you have trouble finding one using jeep as a search term try pacer in it's place.

Up here in Canada, The 87-92 YJ one will have a couple holes in the bottom that can be plugged for the pulse air tubes and an extra flap on the intake to prevent vapor loss when the engine is off, but it will fit on and work fine.

I think some US ones have these extra holes too, depending on what emissions market they were sold for.

A buddy figured out Remy Martin corks fit perfectly. Not all the CJ ones have them though right?
